Beginning at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, and continuing through 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, residents will have the opportunity to support local nonprofit organizations through NEPA Gives, a 24-hour online giving event that now includes Schuylkill County organizations.
For years, local nonprofits have participated in Schuylkill Gives, a countywide day of giving organized by the Schuylkill Area Community Foundation. This year, the foundation has partnered with community foundations throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania to bring Schuylkill County into NEPA Gives, expanding the reach and impact of the annual fundraiser.
The Schuylkill Area Community Foundation is collaborating with community foundations in Scranton, Luzerne County, Wayne County, Greater Pike County, Carbon County, the Twin Tiers, and Monroe County as part of the regional initiative.
Founded in 2020, NEPA Gives was created to unite communities across Northeastern Pennsylvania in support of nonprofit organizations. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $6.7 million for charities throughout the region. In 2025 alone, more than 8,000 donors contributed to nearly 300 participating nonprofits.
Organizers say the partnership provides greater visibility and additional fundraising opportunities for Schuylkill County organizations while connecting them to a broader regional audience.
During the 24-hour event, donors can make secure online contributions through the NEPA Gives platform to participating nonprofit organizations serving Schuylkill County and the surrounding region. Donations may also be boosted through bonus funds and incentive prizes provided by sponsors, helping nonprofits maximize the impact of each contribution.
The event is open to registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving Northeastern Pennsylvania and spans 13 counties, including Schuylkill, Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Wayne, Bradford, Tioga, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wyoming, and others throughout the region.
Organizers encourage residents to support causes that matter most to them, whether they are hometown organizations or nonprofits serving broader regional needs. Every donation remains local and helps strengthen communities across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Those interested in participating or learning more about the organizations involved can visit the official NEPA Gives website.
