The Tri-County Youth Football League (TCYFL) recently recognized its 2026 scholarship recipients, honoring 16 graduating senior football players for their dedication both on and off the field.
The TCYFL, which is made up of 16 organizations across eastern Pennsylvania, serves youth athletes and families throughout Carbon, Luzerne, Northumberland, and Schuylkill counties. Each year, the league awards a $100 scholarship to one senior football player from each member organization.
To qualify, recipients must have participated in the TCYFL for a minimum of three years and continued their football careers through four years of high school participation. League officials say the scholarships recognize athletes who demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and a commitment to being strong teammates.
The league held its 2026 scholarship recognition ceremony on May 20, celebrating the accomplishments of this year's recipients.
Seven scholarship winners were present for a group photo during the recognition event. Those students included:
- Cadyn McGraw - Ashland
- George Shimko - Frackville
- Kyler Quick - Mahanoy
- Brody Baddick - Pottsville
- Logan Pribila - Tamaqua
- Gavin Strohl - Jim Thorpe
- T.J. Bowers - Minersville
League officials said the scholarship program is designed to reward student-athletes who have remained dedicated to the sport from their youth football days through high school graduation while serving as positive role models within their communities.
