The Mahanoy Area Chamber of Commerce and West End Fire & Rescue are inviting the community to kick off the weekend with an evening of music, food, fireworks and hometown pride during the Freedom Fest & Block Party on Friday, June 26.
The event, part of Mahanoy City's America 250 celebration commemorating the nation's 250th anniversary, will begin at 4 p.m. and continue through the evening, culminating with the town's fireworks display at dusk.
Organizers say the event is designed to bring residents together while showcasing local businesses, organizations and vendors. Community members can expect live music, a variety of food vendors, local shopping opportunities and family-friendly activities throughout the evening.
Residents are encouraged to come out, support local vendors, enjoy the entertainment and stay for the fireworks display to cap off the celebration.
