Charles Philip Myers, Jr.
died Friday, June 12, 2026, in Washington, DC. He was born in 1960 in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, to parents Charles Philip Myers, Sr. and JoAnn (Haggerty) Myers.

He was the oldest of seven children and took the role of “big brother” seriously. Throughout his youth, he was known to friends and family as Chuck, only earning the nickname Archie in his university years due to his unique resemblance to the Archie comics.

A 1978 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, Archie graduated from Duquesne University in 1983 with a degree in pharmacy. He settled in Washington, D.C., where he called home for almost 40 years, and dedicated his professional life to serving others as a pharmacist.

Archie enjoyed reading, cinema, music, traveling, watching Jeopardy, and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. He was loved by all he met and known for his great sense of humor. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend and will be missed dearly by all.

He is survived by his father, Charles Myers, Sr., of Tamaqua; three sisters, Marcee Myers Addington and her husband, Eric, Amy Jo Vowell, and JoAnn Brown and her husband, Douglas; two brothers, Marc Myers and his wife, Robin, and Michael Myers and his wife, Michelle; a sister-in-law, Cindy Myers; nieces and nephews, Lincoln Addington, McKinley Addington, Kennedy Addington, Nicholas Vowell, Sarah Hahn, Rowan Myers, Rhys Myers, Sophie Nietz, Ian Myers, Nicholas Bunch, Nathan Myers, Noah Myers, Devin Brown, Jason Brown, Dylan Brown, and Madalyn Brown; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Myers, who passed away on March 11, 2026, and a brother, David Myers, who passed away on March 5, 2026.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.
