Born in Tamaqua, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Harkins) Farber. A 1946 graduate of St. Jerome’s High School, she was employed by several local garment manufacturers throughout her working life, most recently Kiddie Clothes in Lansford.
Dorothy was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church of the Panther Valley in Summit Hill. Proud of her Irish heritage, she enjoyed volunteering her time to support church festivals and bingo events. She was also well known for her homemade haluski and pound cake, which became favorites among family and friends. Dorothy loved polka music and, in years past, she and her husband could often be found dancing the night away at Postie’s Grove in Still Creek. She enjoyed working word-find puzzles and was a devoted fan of the Game Show Network, especially the program America Says. Above all, Dorothy cherished her family and took great pride in watching it grow through the generations.
She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Dietrich and her companion, Kenneth Krasnisky, of Lake Hauto; a grandson, John B. Dietrich of Lansford; great-grandchildren, Breanna Johnson and her husband, Garrett of Davenport, Florida, Nicole Shaw and her husband, James of Drums, and John R. Dietrich and his fiancée, Christianna of Harvey’s Lake; great-great-grandchildren, Eli and Presley Johnson of Davenport, Florida; and one great-great-grandson expected soon. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Jean Farber of Massachusetts; a brother-in-law, Robert (Wadyak) Vago of Summit Hill; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The last of her immediate family, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Joseph E. Wadyak; brothers, Nickolas, Daniel, Vincent, Peter, Russell, John, Eddie, and Ralph Farber; and sisters, Kathryn Minrod and Teresa “Tessie” Englert.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at St. Joseph Church of the Panther Valley, 462 West Ludlow Street, Summit Hill. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM at the church. Interment in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, will follow.

Born in Shenandoah on July 18, 1962, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Holovich) Forgotch.
John was a 1980 graduate of Marian High School and then worked many years in the maintenance department for the Mahanoy Area School District. Outside of his work, John was a devoted Mason having served as Past Worshipful Master for the Mahanoy City/Tamaqua Lodge 238. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, also playing pool or just simply having a drink with friends and socializing.
His surviving family includes 1 sister- Linda Breslin, 2 nieces- Amy Bartley with Jeremy and Allison Misstishin with Christopher, 3 great nieces- Kailyn Jones, Izabel Jones, and Ellie Misstishin, 1 great nephew- Samuel Misstishin, along with several cousins.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 30th from 9 to 10am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Masonic services will be conducted at 10am. Burial will follow in Assumption BVM Cemetery, Mahanoy City.
The Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, Shenandoah are entrusted with the arrangements under the direction of Franklin Fetter, Funeral Director.
