Madison Biros, of Sheppton, and Alexander Krapf, of Frackville, were recognized this spring during the Diocese of Allentown's annual Bishop's Catholic Scholar Society Awards program, which celebrates some of the Diocese's most accomplished students.
The Bishop's Catholic Scholar Society honors students who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, service, and a strong commitment to their Catholic faith. Recipients are selected for their character, virtue, and dedication to living out Gospel values in their schools, parishes, and communities.
In addition to receiving the honor, Biros and Krapf were awarded scholarships made possible through contributions to the Diocese's annual Because We Are Catholic Appeal.
"Madison and Alexander represent the very best of Marian Catholic," said Principal Fr. Robert Finlan. "Their academic accomplishments are impressive, but what truly distinguishes them is the way they live their faith each day. Through their leadership, service to others, and commitment to excellence, they embody the values that are at the heart of a Catholic education. We are proud of their achievements and grateful for the example they set for our school community."
According to Marian Catholic, the award recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance while embracing Christian discipleship and servant leadership. Recipients are nominated by their schools and selected for their ability to integrate faith, learning, and service into their daily lives.
School officials congratulated Biros and Krapf on the recognition and thanked them for the positive impact they have had on the Marian community, noting that their achievements reflect the school's mission of forming faith-filled leaders prepared to make a difference in the world.
Since opening in 1954, Marian Catholic High School has graduated more than 8,000 students who now live throughout the United States and abroad. The school also honors the legacies of Saint Ann's High School in Lansford, Saint Mary's High School in Coaldale, Saint Jerome's High School in Tamaqua, and Mauch Chunk Catholic High School in Jim Thorpe.
Marian Catholic said that legacy of faith, learning, and community also extends to alumni of Bishop Hafey High School and Cardinal Brennan High School, whose traditions continue through Marian's ongoing mission.
