Customers of Wells Fargo's Frackville branch began receiving letters Monday notifying them that the location will permanently close later this year.
According to information provided to account holders, the branch, located in Frackville, will cease operations on September 23, 2026.
In a statement provided by Wells Fargo, the company said branches remain an important part of how it serves customers in Pennsylvania, alongside digital banking services and ATMs.
“Branches continue to play an important role in the way we serve our customers in Pennsylvania in combination with our mobile app, website, and ATMs,” Wells Fargo said. “We are actively investing in our branch network by opening new locations and refurbishing our entire network.”
The bank said it continually evaluates its branch network and adjusts locations based on customer demand and changes in the retail landscape.
“As we optimize our branch network, we are focused on enhancing our branch presence based on customer demand and changes to the retail landscape to best meet the banking needs of each community we serve,” the statement continued.
Once the Frackville office closes, customers will be directed to the Wells Fargo Park Plaza branch in Pottsville for in-person banking services.
Wells Fargo has not announced any additional branch closures in Schuylkill County.
