On May 26, troopers investigated the theft of approximately 1,060 feet of 300-pair, 19-gauge Verizon wire valued at more than $12,000. A second theft was reported in early June when approximately 1,200 feet of copper wire was stolen from Verizon lines between Piersol Street and Mining Road, causing a communications outage.
