Dalilah Delorus Trygar, 31, was charged Sunday with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, DUI, and multiple summary traffic offenses in connection with the crash that claimed the life of John F. Coleman.
According to court documents, the crash occurred at approximately 7:54 p.m. Saturday along Suffolk Road (State Route 54) in Mahanoy Township.
State Police said they arrived to find a 2016 Subaru Legacy with severe front-end damage stopped on the eastbound shoulder. A 2021 Royal Enfield motorcycle was also located on the shoulder, and its operator was found deceased from significant traumatic injuries.
Investigators said a witness told police the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Route 54 when the Subaru traveling eastbound entered the opposite lane of travel, striking the motorcycle head-on before continuing into the witness's vehicle.
According to the affidavit, Trygar told troopers she had just dropped off her daughter and was traveling from Mahanoy City to Shenandoah when the crash occurred. She reportedly claimed she attempted to drive around the vehicle in front of her and accidentally struck the motorcycle.
Troopers reported observing bloodshot, glossy eyes and detecting an odor of alcohol coming from Trygar's breath. She allegedly admitted to consuming "one Corona and one shot of Crown Apple" prior to the crash.
Police administered standardized field sobriety tests, during which they reported observing multiple indicators of impairment. A preliminary breath test later registered a blood alcohol concentration of .158, nearly twice Pennsylvania's legal limit of .08. Trygar was then transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill South Campus, where investigators said she consented to a legal blood draw.
Trygar has been charged with:
- Homicide by Vehicle While Driving Under the Influence (Felony 1)
- Homicide by Vehicle (Felony 2)
- Involuntary Manslaughter (Misdemeanor 1)
- DUI/Unsafe Driving (Misdemeanor)
- Careless Driving Resulting in Unintentional Death
- Reckless Driving
- Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic
- Overtaking a Vehicle on the Left
- Driving on the Right Side of the Roadway
Court records show Magisterial District Judge James Reiley set bail at $100,000 monetary bail during Trygar's preliminary arraignment early Sunday morning. Bail was posted Monday through a private surety, and she was released from Schuylkill County Prison.
A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker has been scheduled for July 16, 2026
