According to a police release, troopers responded around 7:59 a.m. on August 3, 2026, to a reported theft near Peach Mountain Road and West Wade Road.
Police said an unknown person or persons broke into a substation and stole approximately 100 feet of 2/0 bare copper wire, valued at $428, along with 20 feet of No. 12 THHN wire, valued at $10.
The Reading Anthracite Company of Pottsville was identified by police as the victim. Approximately $100 in damage was also reported to a chain-link fence at the property.
Investigators believe the theft occurred sometime between July 29 and August 3.
