Beginning Monday, August 31, PennDOT maintenance crews will perform pothole patching along Interstate 81 North in Mahanoy Township between Exit 124 (PA 61) and Exit 131 (PA 54).
A lane closure will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day through Thursday, September 3.
Work will then move to Interstate 81 South along the same stretch between Exit 131 and Exit 124. Southbound lane closures are scheduled from Tuesday, September 8, through Thursday, September 10, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily.
In addition, a PennDOT contractor will perform median barrier and guide rail repairs on Interstate 81 North between Exit 134 (Delano) and Exit 138 (PA 309) on Monday, August 31.
A northbound lane restriction will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
PennDOT does not anticipate rain causing delays to any of the scheduled work. Motorists should use caution, allow additional travel time and watch for workers and changing traffic patterns while traveling through the work zones.
