Pottsville Police and the Schuylkill County Coroners Office are working to identify a person whose body was found Friday afternoon in a wooded area in the 400 block West Race Street.
The Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene at approximately 4 p.m.
Pottsville Police Chief John Morrow said an autopsy was performed Wednesday morning, but the individual’s identity and cause of death have not yet been determined.
Authorities have not released any additional information.
