A McAdoo man is facing a terroristic threats charge after police alleged he made statements about shooting two convenience stores while upset over money he lost on skill machines.
Christopher Lee Scee, 52, was charged with one first-degree misdemeanor count of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another. Kline Township Police filed the criminal complaint on .
Police Detail Alleged Convenience Store Threats
According to an affidavit of probable cause, police were notified at approximately 7:32 p.m. on of reported threats made toward a clerk at the Sunoco convenience store at 699 South Kennedy Drive.
The clerk told police that a customer approached the register to purchase cigarettes after playing the store’s skill machines. While she was retrieving the cigarettes, the customer allegedly complained that he had lost $80 on the machines and said that “one day everybody will be sorry.”
Police alleged that the man then claimed he had recently purchased an AR-15 and made statements about shooting the Sunoco and another convenience store. The clerk also told investigators that the man claimed to know employees’ break schedules.
Public Tip Helped Police Identify Suspect
The store owner provided officers with surveillance video from the incident. Police circulated still images among area law enforcement agencies but were initially unable to identify the man.
On , officers asked news outlets to share one of the images with the public. According to the affidavit, police received a tip on identifying the man as Scee.
Officers subsequently confirmed his identity and spoke with him at his McAdoo residence.
During that conversation, Scee allegedly acknowledged that he had said things he should not have said but told police he did not own a gun and could not purchase one. He also allegedly said that he would never carry out the threats and had made the comments because he was angry about losing money on the skill machines.
Bail and Preliminary Hearing
Court records show Scee was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli on . Bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. on before Tarantelli.
The charge is an allegation. Scee is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
