A Shamokin man has been charged after Pennsylvania State Police alleged that he placed several bags of trash in a resident’s private dumpster at a North Manheim Township property in April.
Theft of Services and Trespass Charges Filed
Andrecito Lopez-Molina, 44, faces a misdemeanor charge of theft of services and a summary charge of defiant trespass, according to a criminal complaint filed on .
State Police Detail Alleged Illegal Dumping
In an affidavit of probable cause, Trooper David McFarland Jr. said Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven were called to the property on , after a resident reported illegal dumping.
The resident told police that a security camera alerted her to a blue vehicle entering the property. She allegedly saw a man exit the vehicle, place trash in the dumpster and begin to leave.
According to the affidavit, the resident’s husband confronted the man, who returned to the dumpster and removed approximately four full bags of trash and cardboard.
The resident told police that a “No Trespassing” sign was posted at the front of the property and that she paid $85 per month for trash service.
Police identified the vehicle as a blue Hyundai Accent and traced its registration to Lopez-Molina, the affidavit states.
Preliminary Hearing Scheduled
A summons was issued on September 22. Lopez-Molina is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on , before Magisterial District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek.
The charges are allegations. Lopez-Molina is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
