According to PPL, nearly 2,000 county residents are without power as of 10:00pm Sunday.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Schuylkill County until 11 pm

1 Teen Killed in Porter Twp Crash Overnight

A 17 year old has reportedly been killed in a Porter Twp crash early Sunday.

Just after 4am, crews were called to Route 209 in the area of the waterfalls in Porter Township for a motor vehicle accident.

According to sources, 1 teen died in the crash.  Another teen was life flighted.

Route 209 was closed for a time after the crash.

The female to the lefts name is Kendra Frehafer.  She has been reported missing since 5:30am Friday morning.  She reportedly went for a walk and never returned.  She is from Pottsville and reportedly hangs out in the surrounding areas.

Police Investigating Arson at Mining Company

Police are investigating a car fire in Reilly Township at mining company early Saturday.

According to a story by WNEP, Police are investigating an car fire that was found around 5am Saturday morning near the Hegins Mining Company on Swatara Road in Reilly Township.

A person reportedly parked a Toyota Sedan near the company and set it on fire.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information concerning the arson can contact the State Police at Schuylkill Haven at (570) 739-1330.
