Girl Hit By Train in Mahanoy City

A 12 year old was hit by a train in Mahanoy City Wednesday afternoon around the 500 block of West Railroad Street.

According to sources, her leg was amputated in the incident and she was flown via helicopter to a local trauma center.

Working Structure Fire in Minersville

Crews are at the scene of a working structure fire in Minersville.


Around 9:45pm, Thursday, an automatic fire alarm prompted a chief to be called to investigate in the 400 block of 2nd Street in Minersville.

Shortly after it was reported as a working structure fire.  Fire crews from Minersville and Pottsville responded.

UPDATE:  The fire wa reported under control at 10:18pm.

GameStop and the Cigar Box will now make it 7 stores that have closed since January.

The Cigar Box's last day is scheduled to be August 23rd and Gamestop will be closing near the end of October.
