Girl Hit By Train in Mahanoy City

A 12 year old was hit by a train in Mahanoy City Wednesday afternoon around the 500 block of West Railroad Street.

According to sources, her leg was amputated in the incident and she was flown via helicopter to a local trauma center.

County Commissioners Vote to Sell Rest Haven

Schuylkill County Commissioners unanimously voted Wednesday to sell the Rest Haven nursing home.

The Mahanoy Police Department made a second drug arrest on Thursday.

A fire Thursday night in Minersville was reportedly started by the home's owner.

Working Structure Fire in Minersville

Crews are at the scene of a working structure fire in Minersville.

Around 9:45pm, Thursday, an automatic fire alarm prompted a chief to be called to investigate in the 400 block of 2nd Street in Minersville.

Shortly after it was reported as a working structure fire. Fire crews from Minersville and Pottsville responded.

UPDATE: The fire wa reported under control at 10:18pm.
