Ringtown Man Jailed for Assault

On Wedneday, Christopher Troutman, 43, of Ringtown was arraigned on charges of 4 felony counts of aggravated assault and 4 felony counts of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person according to the Republican Herald.

No one was injured this afternoon (Wednesday, October 22, 2014) after the male driver of a pickup crashed into an unoccupied home on Lincoln Street in Tamaqua.

PennDOT announced today that a new partnership will help keep teen drivers safe and save the commonwealth nearly $70,000 in annual printing costs. “The Parent’s Supervised Driving Program,” developed by the Safe Roads Alliance and sponsored by State Farm Insurance and Sheetz, provides parents with a printed handbook designed as a simple, easy-to-follow guide to help their teens become safe and responsible drivers. The alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving highway safety by improving driver education with particular emphasis on behind-the-wheel training.

Just before 1PM Tuesday afternoon, an older model car caught fire on Main St. in Shenandoah near Francesco's Italian Restaurant.

The fire appeared to be contained to the engine area, based on eyewitnesses.
