Police Attempting to Find Family or Friends of Pedestrian Struck By Car

Around 10:00PM Monday evening, emergency crews were called to the area of the Bad Dog Fitness Center, along Route 924, near Shenandoah for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.


The victim, identified by Mahanoy Township Police as, Luis Velasco, was transported to Geisinger in Danville and listed in critical condition.

Velasco has no known address but is believed to be from the Shenandoah area.

Since the accident, Mahanoy Township Police Chief Brandon Alexander and his Department have been looking for friends or family of the victim but have not received any leads.

Velasco was only identified by a 1995 voter registration card from Mexico.
