Man Wanted for Kidnapping an 18 Month Old in New York Taken into Custody Along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County

A man that was wanted for kidnapping an 18-month old in New York was taken into custody in Schuylkill County on Thursday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, on Thursday, March 18th, 2021, State Troopers from the Hazleton Barracks were advised to be on the lookout for a Silver Nissan Altima with New York registration that might be passing through the area.

The driver, Jeremy Flowers, 33, of Austell, GA was wanted in relation to the kidnapping of a 18 month old child in Cortland City, NY.  Flowers was also reported to be travelling with the child and be in possession of a knife.

Around 4:00am, Thursday, Troopers located the vehicle traveling south on Interstate 81 in Luzerne County and through a traffic stop took Flowers into custody without incident near mile marker 140 in Kline Township, Schuylkill County.

Children and Youth took temporary custody of the child to return her to her mother.

Flowers was held by State Troopers to be extradited back to New York.
