Deer Blamed for Rollover Crash on Gold Star Highway


A woman walked away from a crash uninjured after a rollover crash on the Gold Star Highway over the weekend.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Saturday, April 10th, 2021, around 1:00am, a one vehicle crash occurred on the Gold Star Highway just south of Pioneer Road in West Mahanoy Township near Shenandoah.

Police say Heidy Mora, 26, of Shenandoah was driving north on the highway when she veered to the right in the roadway to avoid hitting a deer.

Mora's Chevrolet Trax struck the end of a guide rail causing it to roll several times into a wooded area.

Mora was not injured in the crash and was towed from the scene.

She will be cited for the crash.

No fire or EMS were called to the scene.
