One Rescued from Multi-Alarm Fire in Minersville

One person had to be rescued from a multi-alarm fire in Minersville on Tuesday morning.

Just after 6:00am, Tuesday, emergency personnel were dispatched to 423 North Street, Minersville for a house fire with entrapment.

Minersville Police were first on scene and found a working fire at 423 that was spreading to the address at 421.

Minersville Patrolman Tim Walsh found a male trapped on the second floor at 423 and was able to rescue him out a window onto the front porch roof.

The male victim was evaluated by EMS but refused treatment.

The fire was upgraded to a 2nd, then a 3rd alarm calling in addition units from around Minersville including Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven, and Frackville.

Three row homes at 423, 421, and 419 all sustained severe damage in the fire.  The man that lived at 423 was reported to be the only victim.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation with a State Police Fire Marshal being requested to the scene.

Three pets that included 2 cats and dog died in the fire.
