Firefighters are responding to a house fire in Cressona Monday afternoon.
Around 2:00pm, Monday, emergency personnel were called to 47 Ash Street in Cressona for a basement fire.
An assistant chief arrived on scene to find fire showing from both sides of the home and upgraded the fire to a second alarm calling in units from Schuylkill Haven and Pottsville.
A mayday was also reported to have been issued with one firefighter being treated by EMS.
Pine Grove and Englewood Fire have been called to the scene for their Rapid Intervention Team as well as additional units have been called to move up to cover fire departments at the scene.
