Pottsville Police Remind Drivers About PennDOT Work on Route 61

The Pottsville Police Department is reminding drivers about work next week on Route 61 that will cause increased traffic flow due to detours.

PennDOT announced last week that upcoming detours will be enacted beginning 11/8/21 for the purposes of the Route 61 corridor upgrades in the City of Pottsville. 

The detours will affect traffic on Route 61 at the intersections of Mauch Chunk Street, East Norwegian Street and East Arch Street and are expected to cause increased traffic flow on surrounding roadways including North Centre Street.
