Man with Machete Charged in Shenandoah

A man is facing charges after an incident in Shenandoah last week.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022, around 12:15am, Troopers responded to the Turkey Hill on Main Street in Shenandoah for a man wearing a trench coat causing a disturbance.

Troopers located the man, identified as Richard Bates, 36, of Shenandoah, and found he was in possession of a machete.

Bates was charged with being is possession of a prohibited weapon.
