New Frackville Police Chief Sworn In

On Monday evening, Frackville held a swearing in for their new Police Chief, Paul Olson.

The hiring of Olson was approved by the Frackville Council on February 9th, 2021. Chief Olson replaces Rick Bell who recently left the position after taking a Chief position in southeast Pennsylvania.

Frackville Mayor Kim Phillips administered the oath while his family held the bible.

Chief Olson spoke to the 40 people in attendance that included his family, friends, and former coworkers.

"I want to thank everyone for your support.  I look forward to serving you the best that I can and I look forward to building relationships within the community.  I'm confident the police department will be one of the best in the county, if not the best." Olson said.

Chief Olson has worked for the Frackville Police Department previously as well as the Pottsville Police Department.
