Mahanoy City Elks Holds Annual Flag Day Ceremony


Mahanoy City Elks Lodge No. 695 held its annual Flag Day Ceremony on June 14th. 

Flag Day is a required program observed by the BPOE. The ceremony was held on the actual day of commemoration with the participation of Barnesville Boy Scout Troop No. 725 and speakers, Student Americanism Essay Winners of the Mahanoy Area School District--a program sponsored by the Elks. 

The Historic Flags used during the program were donated in 2021 by Cheryl Sabol (member, Hazleton Lodge No. 200) and Gerard Kufrovich (Mahanoy City Lodge) in memory of their parents.
