Dorothy Jean Kabana
, 97, of Saylorsburg, PA and formerly of Tamaqua, PA, died on Thursday, July 8, 2022 at home. She was predeceased by her first husband, Carl F. Gerber in 1972 and her second husband, Bernard D. Kabana in 2011. 

Born in Tamaqua on October 27, 1924, Jean was a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Lishman) Reimolt. A 1943 graduate of Tamaqua High School, she did office work for J.J. Newberry in Tamaqua and Diversified Metals in Hometown, retiring in 1989. Jean was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua where she was a faithful member of the Senior Choir and for many years was the church’s financial secretary. A former member and President of the Tamaqua Women’s Club, Jean volunteered for American Red Cross blood drives and the Visiting Nurse Association especially with the association’s fundraising. A favorite activity of hers was caring for her dogs and grand dogs. 

Jean is survived by daughter, Pam Wagner and her husband Frederick with whom she lived and nieces, Marilyn Henninger, Cathy Hornung, Sandee Haney, Elizabeth Pollock, and Sandee Fletcher. 

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by sisters Elizabeth Butts and Thelma Applegate. 

Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, 503 West Broad Street, Tamaqua will follow the services. Call 10-11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. 

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials in Jean’s name may be made to either St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 Mauch Chunk Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252 or the Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901or at hillsidespca.com.

Mary T. Ciavaglia, 88 years of age, of Arlington Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospice in Bethlehem.

Born Thursday, November 30, 1933 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late James, and Helen (McNelis) Arner. Mary was also predeceased by; her husband, Robert C. Ciavaglia; son, Anthony James Ciavaglia; sisters, Helen Gates, Patricia Trudich, Sarah Terry; brothers, James, Russell, Charles, Robert, William, Joseph, John, Larry, Bernard, and Francis Arner.

Surviving are son, Robert A. Ciavaglia and his wife Amy with whom she resides; grandson, Anthony James Ciavaglia. Many nieces and nephews also survive Mary.

Catholic by faith, Mary and her husband Robert owned and operated B&J Upholstering of Coaldale for many years. Mary enjoyed playing bingo, adult coloring, and tending to her house plants.

Mary A. Lehman
, 94 of Pine Grove, passed away Tuesday July 5, 2022 at Providence Place , Pine Grove. 

Mary was born in Courtney’s, Heckscherville, on July 18, 1927, a daughter of the late Gabriel and Mary (Worobok) Andresky. She graduated from Cass Township High School, Class of 1943. She was a former member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville. Mary worked as a seamstress for Lord & Taylor and was a member of the Pine Grove Grange, American Legion Auxiliary Post 374, the Sweet Arrow Lake Conservation Association, and the Slovak Heritage Society of Northeastern Pa. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C.C. Lehman in 2002, her first daughter, Bonnie Sheryl, who died in infancy in 1947. Also preceding her in death was her second daughter, Colleen M. (Lehman) Inglazo, who died May 1, 2019. Her four brothers, John, Michael, George, and Charles”Bill” Andresky. 

Mary is survived by her daughter, Donna (Lehman) Reilly and husband, Michael. A son, Harold G. Lehman and his companion Marcia Burke, Grandchildren, Bret Reilly and his companion Christine Long, Carrie Lauer and her husband David, . Great granddaughter, Emma Grace Lauer. Also surviving is her brother-in-law, Charles Samuel Salen, Nieces and nephews. A devoted mother, friend, and neighbor, Mary will be missed. 

A visitation shall be held Tuesday, July 12 , at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, with calling hours from 9:00 to 10:30 am. 

A service of the Great Panachida will be celebrated at 10:45 am by the Very Reverend Gregory J. Noga. Interment Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations made to Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 107 S. 4th St., Minersville, Pa. 17954.

Margie A. Schock
, 67, of Tamaqua, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Daryl Schock. They were married on September 23, 1978 and celebrated 43 years of marriage. 

Prior to retiring, she was a secretary for Fegley Oil Co., Tamaqua, St. Peter’s Church, West Penn, and J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills, Hometown. She was also employed at Country Cottage Bake Shop, Tamaqua. 

Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Berlyn C.W. and Mildred S. (Steigerwalt) Hoppes. She was lifelong member of St. Peter’s Church, West Penn, where she served as a lifetime member of the choir, Sunday school pianist and teacher. Margie enjoyed baking, cooking, crocheting, and going to concerts. 

Surviving in addition to her husband, are a son, Eric; daughter, Holly, wife of Travis Heisler, both of Tamaqua; brother, Bruce, and his wife, Margaret, of San Antonio, TX; granddaughter, Emily Heisler; former sister-in-law, Lori Hoppes, of Tamaqua; nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 14, at St. Peter’s Church, West Penn, 184 St. Peter’s Rd., Tamaqua, PA 18252, with Rev. Virginia M. Heimer and Rev. James Seifert officiating. Call at the church Wednesday from 6-8 pm and Thursday 10-11am. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Contributions may be made to the church. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold.
