Driver Suspected of DUI After Crash on Ashland's Hoffman Boulevard

A driver involved in a crash in Ashland on Saturday is suspected of Driving Under the Influence.

On Saturday, just before 3:00pm, emergency personnel were called to the area of 100 South Hoffman Boulevard in Ashland for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.

When police and fire arrived on scene, they found an SUV that was traveling into town had swerved to the left jumping the median divider, taking out a small tree, and coming to a stop in the opposing traffic lane.

Ashland Police gave the male driver a field sobriety test and eventually took him into custody for suspected DUI.  He was placed in handcuffs and transported to the hospital for testing.

No injuries were reported.

Responding to the scene were Ashland Police along with the American Hose Company, Washington Rescue, Ashland Fire Police, and Washington Ambulance.

The boulevard was closed for approximately a half hour until the scene was cleared.
