One Transported After Vehicle Hits Deer on Route 901

A woman was taken to the hospital after she struck a deer on Saturday afternoon.

Around 3:20pm, emergency personnel were called to the area near the intersection of Route 901 and Deep Creek Road in Barry Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

The crash involved a SUV that struck a deer.  

The female driver sustained injuries to her face and was transported to an area hospital via Hegins Ambulance.

Her passengers were not injured.

Responding to the scene was the Lavelle Fire Company and Pennsylvania State Police.
