Frackville Woman Identified as Victim in Fatal Interstate 81 Crash Early Monday

A Frackville woman has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County early Monday morning.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Jonestown, the crash occurred just after 12:30am on Interstate 81 northbound near mile marker 101.8 in Pine Grove Township.

Troopers say Trina Stoudt, 22, of Frackville was traveling north in a Honda Civic in the left lane when she drove off the side of the roadway and initially impacted a metal grate. Her vehicle then struck a dirt embankment and began to roll over several times.

Stoudt was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle while it was rolling.

Stoudt sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.  She was pronounced by a member of the Schuylkill County Coroner's office.

State Police say she was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance at the time, after several open alcoholic beverage containers and marijuana were found inside the vehicle.

Interstate 81 northbound was closed for approximately 3 hours at the Pine Grove exit.
