A collection of crash reports from Schuylkill County law enforcement.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

POTTSVILLE- According to Pottsville Police Chief John Morrow, on Thursday November 3, 2022, just after 1:00pm, Pottsville police responded to the intersection of East Laurel Blvd and North Progress Ave for a report of a 2-vehicle accident. 

A 2005 Ford Econoline driven by Chad Aschmann, 30, of Plymouth Meeting was driving south on North Progress Ave. approaching East laurel Blvd. 

A 2017 Hyundai Tucson driven by a 44-year-old Pottsville woman who was driving east on East Laurel Blvd approaching N Progress Ave. 

The Ford Econoline failed to stop and yield the right of way to oncoming traffic pulling out into the intersection and striking the Hyundai Tucson. 

The Tucson had to be towed from the scene. 

The Pottsville woman sustained an injury to her right hand/arm. 

Patrolman Timothy Youse will be charging Chad Aschmann with duties at a stop signs and yield signs

RYAN TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on October November 1st, 2022, around 3:40pm on Interstate 81 southbound near mile marker 127.8.

Police say Kelly Heater, 38, of Tamaqua was traveling southbound when a deer entered the roadway.  She struck the deer causing damage to her Nissan Murano.

A 9-year-old passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

NORWEGIAN TOWNSHIP - This incident occurred on November 1st, 2022, around 1:00pm on Peach Mountain Road.

Troopers say Tyrone Leiby, 36, of Pottsville was driving a box truck transporting paving materials from one job site to another.  Donald Cole, 37, also of Pottsville was sitting on the back of the truck with the gate open when Leiby accelerated causing Cole to fall out and hit his head on the ground.

Cole was transported to an area hospital by helicopter with suspected serious injuries.

MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on November 4th, 2022, around 1:00am on Interstate 81.

Police say Stephen Gamble, 28, of Harding, PA, was driving north when a deer ran into the roadway striking the deer.

Gamble was not injured but his vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

NORWEGIAN TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on November 4th, 2022 around 7:30pm on Ann Street.

Troopers say Destiny Johnson, 22, of Minersville was driving her Hyundai Elantra when she fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the northbound lane and proceeded off the roadway striking a utility pole.

Johnson sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.  Her passenger, Jerrad Eiler, 21, of Pottsville was not injured.

PINE GROVE TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on November 3rd, 2022 around 11:30am on 2 1/2 Mile Road.

Troopers say Thomas Brixius, 52, of Pine Grove was driving north in a Chevrolet Silverado while John Lapore, 40, of York, was driving south.

Brixius failed to maintain his lane and crossed the center line and both vehicles struck head on.  Both vehicles came to a rest on the shoulder of the roadway.

No injuries were reported but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Brixius was cited from the crash.
