Schuylkill County Police Reports - 11/12/2022

      

 A collection of police reports received from Schuylkill County law enforcement.

SAINT CLAIR - According to Saint Clair Police, on November 1st, 2022, Joseph Runkle, 22, of Orwigsburg, was formally charged after fleeing police in February 2022.

Police say on February 17th, 2022, police were dispatched to Route 61 northbound for a report of a reckless driver.

When police found the vehicle, a black Cadillac Escalade, the driver was committing multiple traffic violations.  

Police attempted to pull the vehicle over, but a pursuit ensued that stretched to Shenandoah where the chase ended.

Runkle was charged for the incident for fleeing/attempting to elude police, DUI, DUI at the highest rate, and 14 traffic/vehicle code violations

SAINT CLAIR - According to Saint Clair Police, on October 25th, 2022, Christopher Lavan, 39, of Saint Clair, was charged with public drunkenness and harassment.

Police say Lavan was found to be highly intoxicated to the point where he was walking onto porches of homes where he didn't belong and was also making threats to witnesses.

RINGTOWN - According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, an elderly woman was scammed out of $1,000 through a phone scam.

Troopers say someone called the woman posing to be Comcast/Service Electric about upgrading her service.  The victim was then told to pay via Visa Gift Cards.

NORWEGIAN TOWNSHIP - According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on October 24th, 2022, State Police were dispatched to Boscov's at the Fairlane Village Mall for a report of retail theft.

When Troopers arrived, they learned that Edward Mieckowski, 69, of Pottsville was attempting to conceal $225.89 worth of merchandise and leave the store.  The items included a sports hat, women's sweaters, and Yankee Candles.

Mieckowski was charged with retail theft.

PINE GROVE TOWNSHIP - According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on October 25th, 2022, State Police were dispatched to the 300 Block of Sweet Arrow Lake Road, in Pine Grove Township for a report of a domestic.

Troopers arrived to find that a male and a female were engaged in a verbal argument to the point that the male threw a bowl of food on the woman's car.

Giacomo Salera, 57, of Pottsville was cited with harassment for the incident.

WEST BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP - According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on October 24th, 2022, State Police were dispatched to Paramount Boulevard for a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police learned that a 25-year-old male accidently shot himself in the left calf while he was attempting to clean his gun.

The injuries the male sustained were not life threatening.
