Pottsville Man Facing Charges After Leading Police on Peach Mountain Pursuit

A Pottsville man is facing charges after he led State Police on a pursuit on Peach Mountain last week.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, around 11:20pm, Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle on St. Clair Avenue in Norwegian Township.

The driver of that vehicle, Jason Knoll, 20, of Pottsville failed to yield to police and fled north on Peach Mountain Road, and eventually crashed.

After wrecking, Knoll fled on foot into a wooded area where he was taken into custody without further incident.

Knoll was arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge Andrew J. Serina on charges of fleeing and eluding police, flight to avoid apprehension, driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, driving without a license and other traffic violations.

Knoll was transported to Schuylkill County Prison where he remains locked up on $15,000 straight cash bail.

He will answer to the above charges at a Preliminary Hearing before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, on February 21st, 2023.
