CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Frackville Man Facing Charges for Hit and Runs in Pottsville


A Frackville man will face charges for fleeing the scene of two crashes on the weekend in Pottsville that left two parked vehicles heavily damaged.

According to the Pottsville Bureau of Police, on Sunday, March 05, 2023, the Department was dispatched to the area of 150 West Railroad Street for a report hit and run accident. 

At the scene, officers learned a Black 2013 Jeep Wrangler was traveling East on West Railroad Street when it struck a legally parked Nissan Rouge head on, and then struck an occupied home located at 148 West Railroad.   This incident was caught on surveillance cameras, which is posted below.

The Nissan then rolled across the street and hit a parked Chrysler Town & Country. 

The Driver, later identified as Christopher Grustas, 29, of Frackville, fled the scene then stuck another vehicle located on the 700 block of North Centre Street. 

Grustas also fled from the scene of that accident. 

As a result of this incident two of the vehicles had to be towed from the scene. 

Grustas will be charged with Accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, Accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property, Immediate notice to Police Department, Driving on roadways laned for traffic, and Careless driving.
