The driver, Thomas Meyer, 32, of Pottsville, was driving south on North Progress Ave. when he became unconscious, and he drove through a fence, striking a utility pole.
The vehicle, a 2019 Jeep Compass, had severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene.
Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
