Pottsville Woman Arrested for Burglarizing Ashland Dollar General

A Pottsville woman is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after she was caught burglarizing the Ashland Dollar General last week.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Friday, April 7th, 2023, around 6:00am, Troopers responded to a disturbance at the store located on Railroad Street in Ashland.

When police arrived, a store employee told police that a woman had made entry into the rear of the store prior to the store opening.

The woman, Misty D. Schindler, 37, of Pottsville, was still at the location, and taken into custody.  She was also found in possession of several controlled substances.

Schindler was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, retail theft, and possession of a controlled substance.

She was arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $10,000 straight cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 19th, 2023 before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli.
