Minersville Drug Raid Results in Three Arrests; One Faces Child Endangerment Charges

A drug raid in Minersville on Tuesday morning results in the arrests of three people and one facing child endangerment charges.

According to Minersville Police Sergeant Jeffrey Bowers, an ongoing investigation into the sale of drugs at 455 Carbon Street in Minersville led to a search warrant being executed at the address at 10:00am, Tuesday.

During the search, the following items were seized:

  • 6 bags, totaling in 21 Grams of prepackaged bulk baggies of methamphetamine.
  • 146 pills disguised as Oxycodone M30, but were pressed with fentanyl powder.
  • 2 digital scales
  • large amount of narcotics packaging materials
According to Minersville Police, just one fentanyl pills seized is considered a lethal dosage by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency.

During the search, a 2-year-old child was found unsupervised in the backyard with a large amount of feces in its diaper.  Sgt. Bowers said the child was being raised in the home actively engaged in narcotics trafficking.

The child was taken into emergency custody by Minersville Police and later turned over to Schuylkill County Children and Youth.

As a result, Jessica Siluk, 29, Daniel Wagner, 45, and Stacey Hummel, 45, all of Minersville, were taken into custody on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Siluk was also charged with endangering the welfare since she was the mother of the child.

All three were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Plachko on Tuesday afternoon and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $50,000 bail.

During Tuesday's raid, Minersville Police were assisted by officers from Pottsville, Cass Township, Port Carbon, Ashland, Schuylkill County Sheriff's Office, Pennsylvania State Police from Frackville, as well as the Schuylkill County Children and Youth.
