Shenandoah Man Cited for 3-Vehicle Crash in Frackville


FRACKVILLE - A Shenandoah man cited on Friday for a 3-vehicle crash in Frackville.

According to Frackville Police, on Friday July 21, 2023, around 8:15am, Frackville Police were dispatched to the intersection of Lehigh Ave and Frack St for a motor vehicle accident. 

Investigation revealed that traffic had become backed up at the intersection of Lehigh Ave and Oak St., causing line of cars in the southbound lane of Lehigh Ave (SR 924). 

The line of vehicles crossed over the intersection with Frack St., spanning approximately two blocks. 

Kevine Reyes, 28 of Shenandoah, was traveling southbound in a Toyota Camery and began to pass the line of stopped vehicles on Lehigh Ave. Upon reaching the intersection with Frack St., Reyes struck another vehicle, a Mini Cooper, which was entering the intersection, intending to turn and travel north on Lehigh Ave. 

After striking the Mini Cooper, Reyes's vehicle spun and continued south, striking a Ford pick-up truck that was waiting in the line of traffic. 

Reyes's vehicle needed to be towed from the scene. 

Reyes was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville for evaluation. No other injuries were reported.

Reyes will be cited for Careless Driving. 

Frackville Ambulance, Frackville Fire Department and Hoffman's Towing assisted at the scene.

Frackville Police remind motorists that Lehigh Ave is a no passing zone.
