Pottsville Man Faces Charges for Failing to Follow Megan's Law Requirements


A man from Pottsville is facing charges after he failed to register with law enforcement as per his Megan's Law requirements.

According to Pottsville Police, on Monday, July 31st, 2023, the Pottsville Bureau of Police filed a criminal complaint charging William Michael Krause Jr., 45, of Pottsville with one count of Failure to Register with the Megan's Law Unit of the Pennsylvania State Police. 
The Pottsville Bureau of Police received an investigation request for Krause and learned that Krause had not verified his updated information with their agency during the time frame of July 11, 2023 through July 17, 2023, which is a violation of his reporting requirements. 

Krause was charged with one count of Failure to Register by the Detective's Division. 

Krause was contacted by the Pottsville Bureau of Police where he turned himself on Thursday, August 3rd 2023. 

Krause was taken before Magisterial District Judge Reiley and arraigned where bail was set at $20,000 unsecured. 

Krause will have his preliminary hearing on August 14, 2023 before Judge Reiley.
