No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle crash in Pottsville on Friday.
According to Pottsville Police, the crash occurred on Friday, September 1st, 2023, around 4:40pm at the intersection of 3rd and West Market Streets.Upon police arrival, officers observed a two-car accident within the intersection and learned that a vehicle being driver by Lucas Bricker, 30, of Breinigsville was legally traveling through a steady green light at this intersection when he was struck by a 2023 Ram Promaster van which was being driven by Hewlet Mejia-Acosta, 23, of Hazelton.
After the initial accident, Mejia-Acosta attempted to back his vehicle up and struck a legally parked and unoccupied vehicle causing minor damage to the parked vehicle.
Bricker’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
Mejia-Acosta was cited for failing to adhere to a steady red light.
