Pottsville Woman Faces Assault and Resisting Arrest Charges


A Pottsville woman is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after an incident early Monday morning.

According to Pottsville Police, on Monday, September 4, around 12:15am, officers responded to 516 W Race St for a dog bite. 

During the investigation it was determined that Ashley Torres, 20, of Pottsville assaulted her 19-year-old boyfriend. 

During the arrest, Torres resisted and forced officers to use substantial force to restrain and transport her. 

Torres was transported to the hospital for wounds associated with the dog attack. 

While at the hospital, Torres continued to make a scene and cause a disturbance even after multiple police and Emergency room personnel prompts to stop yelling. 

Torres was charged with 1 count of Simple Assault (M), 1 count of resisting arrest (M2), 1 count of Disorderly Conduct (M3), and 1 count of underage drinking (S). 

She was committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of 10% $25,000 cash bail.
