Pennsylvania State Police Report on Bomb Threat Made to the Fairlane Village Mall

The Pennsylvania State Police from the Schuylkill Haven Barracks have released information on Tuesday afternoon's bomb threat that evacuated the Fairlane Village Mall near Pottsville.

Troopers say on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, around 2:25pm, the Schuylkill Haven Barracks responded to the mall for a report of a bomb threat.

Property management told police that they received an email indicating there was a bomb on the premises.

Along with State Police, law enforcement from Pottsville, St. Clair, and Norwegian Township as well as the Pottsville Fire Chief Jim Misstishen, along with the Good Will Fire Company and American Hose Company from the City.

The entire complex was evacuated and secured before a systematic search was conducted of the building.  No explosive devices were found.

All police and fire units were cleared of the scene around 6:00pm.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Laurel Mall in Hazleton also received a similar threat on Tuesday afternoon.
