New NAACP Branch Launches in Schuylkill County to Promote Equality and Combat Discrimination

A group of community members in Schuylkill County has taken a step toward fostering equality and inclusivity for all residents, regardless of their racial backgrounds.

They recently founded a local branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) with a strong commitment to advancing racial equity and eliminating discrimination in the region.

The NAACP, known as the nation's premier civil rights organization, has now found a new home in Schuylkill County. This momentous occasion was marked by the election of Rubina Tareen as the first President of the Schuylkill County NAACP.

Tareen expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "The NAACP is the nation's premier civil rights organization, and we are excited to announce the establishment of a new branch in Schuylkill County. We are ready to introduce ourselves to the community and welcome anyone who wants to learn more about the NAACP and how to get involved."

To introduce the Schuylkill County community to the newly formed branch and its mission, the Schuylkill NAACP is hosting an inaugural event in collaboration with Schuylkill VISION. The event will serve as an informational session for those interested in the organization's goals and initiatives.
