Ashland Woman Charged After Disruptive Encounter at School Bus Stop

An Ashland woman is facing charges after an encounter during a bus stop on Wednesday.

According to Ashland Police, on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, Chief Ger Daley received a call from a North Schuylkill School bus driver to report an incident that occurred during a morning bus stop.

The driver told Chief Daley that during pickup at a bus stop, a woman identified as Yanitza Diaz, 33, of Ashland was yelling and screaming at the driver and that she was racist due to seating arrangements on the bus.

Diaz then reportedly entered the bus and continued to yell at the driver.

The driver informed Diaz that she was not allowed on the bus and got off.

Security footage from the bus was provided to Ashland Police showing the incident.

Chief Daley charged Diaz with unauthorized school bus entry and disorderly conduct for engaging in fighting.

She will answer to these charges before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli on December 13th, 2023.
