Collection of recent crash reports released by Schuylkill County law enforcement.

One Injured in Burma Road Crash

RYAN TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 around 4:40pm on the Burma Road in Ryan Township.

Troopers say Ronny Jerez, 33, of Sugarloaf was traveling northbound when his Acura MDX went off the roadway and struck a tree.  Jerez suffered an injury to his wrist and his vehicle sustained disabling damage.

Jerez was treated at the scene by Ryan Township EMS.  Along with State Police, the Ryan Township Fire Company responded to the scene.

Walker Township Crash Caused by Deer

WALKER TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 around 2:50pm on Route 209 near the intersection with Mining Road.

Troopes say Holly Adamitis, 49, of Coaldale was traveling north on Route 209 when a deer crossed the highway in front of her.

Adamitis's Kia Sportage sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene.  No injuries were reported.

No Injuries Reported After Vehicle Overturns on the Gold Star Highway

GILBERTON - This crash occurred on Friday, November 24th, 2023, around 4:30pm on the Gold Star Highway within the borough of Gilberton.

Troopers say Emmanuel Diaz Aquino, 19, of Shenandoah was driving south when his Honda Accord travelled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment and rolled over on its side.

His vehicle sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Diaz Aquino and his two passengers were not injured.  He was cited for no driving his vehicle at a safe speed.

Assisting at the scene were the Continental Hose Company from Gilberton and the Shenandoah Community Ambulance.

Interstate 81 Crash in Kline Township

KLINE TOWNSHIP - This crash occurred on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, just after 6:00am on Interstate 81 in Kline Township near mile marker 137.6.

This crash occurred near the off-ramp of Interstate 81 south at the McAdoo/Tamaqua exit.  Troopers say Matthew Vargas, 26, of Berwick was traveling south when he attempted to exit at the off ramp.  

As he slowed down, Vargas reported losing control of his Hyundai Sonata, traveling off the highway and up an embankment overturning on its roof.

Vargas's vehicle sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene.

He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not injured.

Driver Crashes into Parked Vehicles in Tremont

TREMONT - This crash occurred on Sunday, November 26th, 2023, around 7:50am in the 40 block of Spring Street.

Troopers say Brooke Celani, 21, of Pottsville was driving south on Spring Street and lost control of her Subaru Legacy and struck a parked Chevrolet Silverado and a Toyota Rav4.

Celania was not injured in the crash but her vehicle sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene.  State Police say she will be cited for the crash.
