The Pottsville School District and the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office have confirmed a teen has been the victim of a fatal crash near St. Clair early Sunday.
The crash occurred just before 4:30am, on Darkwater Road just west of the Pottsville Materials entrance in New Castle Township near St. Clair.
The initial call came in for a vehicle that rolled and was on its side. Fire personnel arrived at the scene and requested the Coroner's office.
Late Sunday, the Pottsville Area School District announced on social media and also sent a message to parents announcing that 17-year-old Kayden Zelinsky had died in a crash.The District says counselors and administrators will be available to assist students and families who need support and/or resources.
The Schuylkill County Coroner's Office confirmed Zelinsky died in the crash.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash but have not released details as of this posting.
