Former Shenandoah Valley Staff Member Faces Felony Charges for Sexual Relationship with Two Students

A former Shenandoah Valley staff member was charged Monday for a sexual relationship she had with two students while she was employed with the district.
According to court papers filed by the Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Francis McDonald, Kim McIntrye, 31, of Gordon has been charged with 4 counts of felony sexual contact with a student, 1 count of felony indecent sexual assault of someone less than 16 years old, felony statutory sexual assault of someone 11 years or older, 4 counts of felony corruption of minors, and misdemeanor assault of person less than 16 years old.

Court documents showed that the Shenandoah Valley School District contacted the Pennsylvania State Police in early 2023 when it was discovered that a student had an inappropriate relationship with a paraprofessional employed by the district.

The district learned from an employee that McIntyre, who was employed as a sign language interpreter, had a sexual relationship with at least one student outside of school.

Principal John Brennan had interviewed the student, who was 16 at the time of the interview, who said he and McIntyre had sex after a football game against Tri-Valley in September 2022. The student was 15 at the time.

The student told Principal Brennan that he wasn't the only student involved with McIntyre.

In March 2023, Principal Brennan, Superintendent Brian Waite, and Special Education Director Michelle Zinkus interviewed McIntyre where she denied any wrongdoing before admitting to having an inappropriate relationship with both students.

McIntyre's employment with the district was terminated after learning this information.

The first victim was interviewed in the presence of their father at Shenandoah Valley High school on March 23rd, 2023, and was asked about his relationship with McIntyre.

The victim told investigators that he had a crush on McIntyre and started a conversation with her one day in late September or early October 2022.

He said that he ended up calling her one night after work where they only talked inside a vehicle in the Redner's Warehouse Market parking lot.

He said a second time, they ended up in her vehicle and began driving around talking. He said she parked her vehicle in an opening somewhere near the Mrs. T's building and softball area. He stated it was there he performed oral sex on McIntyre.

When asked if he and McIntyre ever engaged in sexual intercourse, he replied "Yes".

The victim also said he and McIntyre engaged in sexual intercourse when he went to visit her at her mother's house in Gordon.

When asked approximately how many times he and McIntyre engaged in sexual intercourse to which he said he could not give an exact number. He said if he had to guess he would say more than 10 times but not more than 25 times.

When asked if all the encounters where at the McIntyre's mother's house in Gordon and he said "No" & stated that also happened at McIntyre's home in Gordon and in his car within Shenandoah Borough and surrounding area. He stated they would go places where they wouldn't get caught.

The second victim was interviewed in the presence of their mother at Shenandoah Valley Jr/Sr High School on March 23, 2023, by State Police.

He stated that after a football game they went to eat at the McDonald's outside Frackville.

Afterwards, McIntyre drove around until they ended up near the loading bays over by Mrs. Ts building in Shenandoah where they had sex.

After charges were filed Monday, January 29th, 2024, McIntyre turned herself into authorities on Monday afternoon where she was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker in Shenandoah.

Judge Kilker set bail at $100,000 unsecured.

McIntyre will answer to the charges during a preliminary hearing before Judge Kilker on February 8th, 2024.
