State Police Investigating Theft of Cat from Cressona


The Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven are currently investigating the theft of a cat from Cressona.

Troopers say on January 3rd, 2024, they began an investigation into the theft of a black and white Maine Coon cat from a home on Hillcroft Avenue in Cressona.

According to information posted to social media by Ruth Steinhart Memorial SPCA in Pine Grove, two 19-year-olds were visiting the home, put the cat in a backpack, and threw it out of the back of a truck while it was driving.  The two boys were questioned, admitted to the incident, but have not provided a location where the cat was discarded.

As of this posting, no charges have been filed but State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
