No Injuries Reported in Route 61 Crash in Pottsville

No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle crash on Route 61 in Pottsville on Thursday.
According to Pottsville Police, on Thursday, February 1st, 2024, around 1:30 pm, Ronald Bocian, 77, of Shenandoah, was driving his Ford Escape from the NAPA Auto Store Parking Lot located at 308 S. Claude A Lord Blvd, attempting to cross the northbound traffic lanes and turn south on Route 61.

As he crossed, Bocian's vehicle was struck by a northbound 16’ box truck being operated by a 52-year-old female driver from Bernville.

No injuries were reported, and Bocian’s vehicle was towed from the scene due to severe driver’s side damage.

Bocian told police he didn’t see the northbound vehicle when he initiated crossing the highway, and the driver of the truck stated that she was unable to avoid impact with Bocian.

The Pottsville Fire Dept. and Schuylkill EMS assisted at the scene.
