Schuylkill County Man Jailed for Making Threats to the County Assistance Office

A St. Clair man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after he made several threats to the County Assistance Office.

According to Pottsville Police, on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, officers were dispatched to the Schuylkill County Assistance Office (CAO) located 2640 Woodglen Road for a threat report. The Director reported that the CAO denied an application for David W. Palamar, 53, of St. Clair, the previous day.

The CAO then received a threatening email from Palamar expressing his displeasure with the Schuylkill CAO due to being denied. The email included multiple threats of violence including a threat to kill 19 people at the Pottsville location. The email also included various other threats of arson, assault, and others.

Based upon the investigation, Cpl. Messner obtained an arrest warrant charging Palamar with terroristic threats (M1), harassment (M3), and disorderly conduct (M3).

Palamar was subsequently taken into custody without incident and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Reiley.

Palamar was committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $20,000 cash bail.
